Do I need the Rear Rack for my Cargo Basket?Updated 13 days ago
Rear Rack & Cargo Basket Compatibility Guide
Adding a cargo basket to your Ariel Rider e-bike greatly enhances its utility for carrying groceries, gear, and daily supplies. However, rear rack requirements vary depending on your specific model.
*Note: Rack compatibility guidelines for X-Class models apply to pre-2025 production models.
Model Compatibility Overview
Grizzly & X-Class Models
- Separate rack required: These models do not come with a factory-installed rear rack capable of mounting a cargo basket.
- Installation: You must install our compatible Cargo Plus Rear Rack onto your frame before mounting a rear basket.
Kepler Model
- Factory rack included: The Kepler comes standard with a heavy-duty rear rack installed from the factory.
- Direct installation: No additional rear rack purchase is required. You can mount your cargo basket directly onto the existing stock rack.
Important Safety & Cargo Guidelines
- Check weight limits: Always verify and adhere to the maximum weight capacities for both your rear rack and cargo basket.
- Secure hardware: Ensure all mounting bolts, brackets, and zip ties are properly torqued and secured during installation.
- Distribute weight evenly: Position heavier items lower and centered within the basket to maintain balanced handling and stability while riding.
- Inspect regularly: Periodically check all mounting points and hardware to ensure nothing has loosened from road vibration.
