What You’ll Need
- Your bike tray kit
- The 8 screws from your bike frame
- Basic tools for screw removal and installation
Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Remove Frame Screws
Remove the 8 screws from the frame of your bike. Keep these screws organized, as you’ll need them for mounting.
Step 2: Choose Your Mounting Location
Decide whether you want to mount the tray on:
- Top tube (upper horizontal frame tube)
- Down tube (lower diagonal frame tube)
Step 3: Select the Right Screws
From the 8 screws you removed, identify and set aside the 4 longest screws. These will be used to secure the tray to your chosen mounting location.
Step 4: Mount the Tray
For Top Tube Mounting
- Slide the tray into position on the top tube.
- Using the 4 longest screws you selected, attach the tray to the bike.
- Tighten all 4 screws securely.
For Down Tube Mounting
- Place the tray on the down tube.
- Connect it using the 4 longest screws you selected earlier.
- Ensure all 4 screws are tightened securely.
Step 5: Install the Battery Balancer
- Remove the controller cover and cut the zip ties bundling the wiring. Locate the yellow power connector and unplug it.
- Mount the battery balancer forward of the controllers, with the two inputs facing toward the front of the bike. Connect the single output to the controller power input, then connect the existing battery connector to one of the balancer inputs.
- Mount the battery tray socket just forward of the shock mount. Connect the yellow power connector to the other input of the balancer.
- Locate the “2 in 1” cable; it will have a lead with a black cap. Connect the other connector (red) of the battery tray socket to this cable.
Step 6: Connect the Power
- Locate the plug on the underside of the top tube.
- Plug in the tray’s power cord.
- Route the wire through the provided channel or slot to keep it secure and tidy.
Step 7: Install Your Battery
- Place your battery onto the tray.
- Slide the battery forward until it locks securely to the tray.
- Ensure the battery is firmly attached before riding.
Installation Complete!
Your bike tray is now ready for use. The battery should be securely mounted and connected to power.
