Grizzly 72v - Safety Events, Accidents, and Incident RecordsUpdated 2 days ago

In the event of an accident, safety hazard, or technical failure, always prioritize human safety before assessing vehicle damage. Follow these steps to secure the scene, preserve critical evidence, and report the incident.

Incident response sequence: protect people, preserve evidence, and report.

EMERGENCY WARNING: People always come first. Immediately call 911 or local emergency services for any personal injury, fire, smoke, hissing sounds, sparks, traffic danger, or rapid battery heating. Do NOT move an injured person unless immediate environmental conditions mandate it.

Immediate Priorities

Once all individuals are out of immediate danger, execute the following steps:

  1. Power Down: Switch off the main bike power only if it is completely safe to approach the vehicle.
  2. Isolate Electrical System: Do NOT attempt to charge or plug in any affected or suspected battery packs.
  3. Secure Vehicle: Prevent anyone from riding, moving, or altering the bike.
  4. Document the Scene: Take detailed photos of the overall environment, vehicle position, road surface, damage points, serial number labels, batteries, chargers, controls, display screen, tires, wheels, brakes, and accessories.
  5. Save Digital Files: Export and preserve all front-view camera video files, memory card data, and prior support communications.
  6. Record Incident Details: Write down the date, time, exact location, weather conditions, rider details, witness contact information, payload weight, ride mode, speed setting, and sequence of events.
  7. Report Promptly: Contact Ariel Rider Technical Support to open an official incident report.

Events Requiring Stop-Use Review

Do NOT ride, charge, or operate the bike if it experiences any of the following occurrences until a formal safety review is completed:

  • Physical Impacts: Crashes, tip-overs, curb strikes, severe drops, or transit/carrier damage.
  • Thermal/Battery Hazards: Battery swelling, high heat, unusual odors, fluid leakage, smoke, hissing, popping, sparks, or thermal runoff.
  • Charger Malfunctions: Charger overheating, melting cases, smoke, repeated fault lights, or use of an unapproved charger.
  • Mechanical Failures: Sudden loss of braking power, loose steering, wheel/axle displacement, frame cracks, or suspension failure.
  • Electrical Irregularities: Unexpected acceleration, motor engagement while braking, persistent system cutouts, or electrical shorts.
  • Severe Environmental Exposure: Deep water submersion, flooding, pressure washing, or water ingress at battery connectors.
  • Formal Safety Events: Incidents involving personal injury, property damage, insurance claims, government inquiries, legal demands, or formal safety reports.

Preserving Evidence & Damaged Parts

Do NOT disassemble failed components, modify display settings, reflash firmware, erase camera files, discard packaging, dispose of damaged batteries, repair wiring, clean burn marks, or ship a damaged battery until Ariel Rider Technical Support provides specific instructions.

NOTE: Attempting repairs, cleaning, or modifications before complete documentation can obscure root causes, create secondary safety hazards, and invalidate warranty coverage.
