Grizzly Assembly video (V1 and V2)Updated 15 days ago

In this video, you'll find out how to assemble your Ariel Rider Grizzly bike V1 and V2.

Estimated time: ~1½ hours
Tools included / suggested: toolkit (wrenches + hex keys), scissors or wire cutters, tire pump, tire pressure gauge, friend (for lifting), soft rug/cardboard.
Safety: work on a flat surface, avoid cutting wires (especially front brake hose), tighten bolts to torque specified in your user manual.

1 — Unbox & inventory

  1. Open the box and remove the three small top boxes. Confirm they contain: charger (down tube battery), headlight, and pedals/pegs/touch-up paint/hardware/registration card/user manual/rear battery charger.

  2. Keep the outer box intact (in case you need to return the bike).

2 — Prepare the bike for assembly

  1. With a friend, remove the entire motorized bike from the box. Take care not to scratch paint or damage cables.

  2. Put down the kickstand; remove bubble wrap and cut away foam. Leave front wheel and handlebars attached for now.

  3. Take care around the front brake hose — do not cut it.

3 — Handlebar / steering alignment

  1. Remove the front brake caliper from the wheel and set it aside gently (do not stretch or pinch the hose).

  2. Loosen the steering stem bolts, rotate the stem so it’s forward and aligned with the fork, then tighten the stem bolts and the stem cap bolt.

    • Tighten to the torque specs in the user manual.

  3. Remove the handlebar clamp plate and cut the zip ties and foam securing the handlebars.

  4. Mount the handlebars centered and parallel with the fork tubes; reinstall the clamp plate and tighten per manual torque specs.

4 — Remove front wheel and prepare fork

  1. Remove the torque arm bolts and the cross bolt that secure the fork legs, then pull out the front wheel assembly.

  2. Carefully flip the bike upside down onto a rug or cardboard (soft surface) for wheel installation.

5 — Install front wheel & torque arm

  1. Install the front wheel so the motor cable runs toward the bottom of the fork leg. Note the orientation of the offset hole on the torque arm.

  2. Fit the torque arm first, then the spacer washer, then the axle nut.

  3. Before fully tightening axle nuts, install and tighten the torque arm bolt.

  4. Tighten the axle nuts to the specified torque.

  5. Route the motor cable along the back of the fork leg, join the motor cable connector, and remove any slack.

6 — Reinstall front brake caliper & align brakes

  1. Remove the plastic spacer from the brake caliper and mount the caliper on the fork leg so the brake disc sits between the pads.

  2. Tighten the adapter mounting bolts.

  3. To align the caliper: loosen the caliper mounting bolts, squeeze the front brake lever firmly, then while holding the brake, tighten the mounting bolts.

  4. If the brake still drags, back-light (unbolt slightly) and manually adjust the caliper position until the tire spins with minimal drag.

7 — Pedals, pegs & fender

  1. Attach the pedals (hex key or wrench). IMPORTANT: the right pedal is reverse-threaded — turn opposite direction to install/tighten.

  2. Flip the bike upright onto its wheels.

  3. Install passenger pegs per hardware instructions.

  4. Install the front fender using the long bolt from the hardware bag.

8 — Headlight & display

  1. Install the headlight with the included hardware. Align so the headlight face sits perpendicular to the ground.

  2. Align the indicator arrows on connectors and match color-coded connectors together.

  3. Align and tighten the LED display per the display’s mounting hardware.

9 — Final setup & safety checks

  1. Check and adjust handlebar alignment one more time.

  2. Inflate both tires to 30 PSI.

  3. Double-check tightness of all nuts and bolts (use torque specs from the manual where given).

  4. Perform the brake bedding/adjustment procedure as outlined in the Ariel Rider Tech video or your user manual.

  5. Reinstall any covers or trim removed earlier and tuck/secure cable slack so nothing rubs or pinches.

10 — Ready to ride

  1. Do a short pre-ride inspection: quick spin the wheels (verify minimal brake drag), test brakes at low speed, verify lights and display power on.

  2. Enjoy your new Grizzly!
