If you are experiencing an Error 30 this video provides instruction on trouble shooting your V3 Grizzly.

Error 30 refers to a communication error that can be caused by any of the bike's electrical components.

Follow this step-by-step guide to help identify the source of the issue.

Important Safety Note Whenever performing any maintenance or service, always Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE) by:

  • Removing or powering off the battery.

  • Holding the Power button on the display keypad for 5 to 10 seconds.

  1. Step 1: Initial Power Cycle(DCE)

    1. Remove the battery from the bike.

    2. Dissipate the energy in the controller by holding the power button on the display for 5 to 10 seconds.

  2. Step 2: Basic Configuration Testing To isolate the issue, perform the following checks using the Basic Configuration setup:

    1. Ensure that only the main cable assembly and XT60 battery connector are connected.

    2. Do not connect the motor cable connector.

    3. Disconnect all connectors in the cockpit (throttle, brake cutoffs, headlight, display).

    4. Only the display should be connected to the main cable assembly.

    5. With the battery installed, power up the bike using the display keypad.

    6. The display should show an Error 08 code, indicating proper communication.

    7. If Error 30 persists, the display, tree cable, or controller may be at fault. Contact tech support.

  3. Step 3: Reconnecting Components One by One After confirming basic communication, begin reconnecting components one at a time, power cycling the bike after each step to check for errors.

    1. Reconnect the rear motor cable.

      1. Power on the bike, the display should show a 68H error

    2. Reconnect the front motor cable

      1. Power on the bike and verify no errors.

    3. Test walk mode by holding down the minus (-) button on the display/keypad.

    4. If Error 30 appears, stop and contact tech support.

    5. Reconnect the throttle.

  4. Power cycle the bike and verify throttle operation.

  5. If an error appears, disconnect and proceed to the next step.

  6. Reconnect the cadence sensor (near the bottom bracket).

  7. Ensure the motor cable is clear of the brake rotor before testing.

  8. Power cycle the bike and test if the cadence sensor is working.

  9. If the motor does not engage or an error appears, stop testing immediately and contact tech support.

  10. Reconnect the lighting system.

    1. Connect the headlight and power cycle the bike to test the function.

    2. Repeat for the taillight.

    3. Reconnect the brake cutoffs and verify operation.

  11. Reconnect additional accessories (e.g., motor selector switch on Grizzly models) and test.
