How do I adjust my rear shock?Updated 2 days ago
Please note that this guide is for Pre-2025 X-Class 52V bikes.
The 2022 model of X-Class 52V in both frame versions has two adjustments.
You can add air to the shock, or increase the preload of the coil spring.
Adding air lets you fine-tune the spring rate to the payload of the bike, and adds progressivity to the shock.
Increasing the preload increases the shock's resistance to initial movement. Please note that adjusting the preload of the coil can be a dangerous task and we recommend asking your local bike shop for assistance.
To adjust the air pressure, you'll need a purpose-built shock pump, available here, as pumps intended for tires do not provide the accuracy or precision required when filling the air chamber.
It's recommended to use your weight as a PSI number, so if you're 170 lb, 170 psi is the optimal pressure.
This video will show you how to properly use a shock air pump:
How to Pump Your Air Suspension
What you’ll need:
An air pump compatible with your suspension’s Schrader valve
Step-by-Step Instructions
Remove the cap from the air shock’s Schrader valve.
Thread the pump connector onto the valve. Turn it until it is fully seated.
Lock the pump connector by engaging the short lever on the pump head.
Pump air into the shock until the pump’s gauge reaches the recommended pressure for your rider weight.
Unlock the pump connector by disengaging the short lever.
Remove the pump by twisting or unscrewing the connector from the valve.
Replace the valve cap.
