This guide walks you through removing and replacing the controller on your Ariel Rider e-bike. The replacement process is the reverse of removal, so the same steps apply in reverse order when installing a new controller.

Tools Required
3 mm hex wrench
Removing the Controller
1. Remove the Seat
Remove the seat from the bike to gain access to the frame components.
2. Remove the Batteries
Remove the top tube battery.
Remove the down tube battery from the underside of the frame.
3. Access the Bottom Bracket Cover
From below the bottom bracket, locate the cover held in place by four screws. This cover houses all the connectors from the controller and the battery balancer.
Remove the plate using a 3 mm hex wrench.
4. Disconnect the Battery Balancer
Pull out the battery balancer and disconnect its connectors.
5. Disconnect All Remaining Connectors
Disconnect all other connectors inside the bottom bracket cover area.
6. Free the Controller
Flip the zip ties on the motor cable that are holding the controller in place.
Unscrew the motor connector and pull it apart.
7. Remove the Seat Post Cover
Remove the four screws from the cover behind the seat post using a 3 mm hex wrench.
8. Slide Out the Controller
Carefully slide the controller out of the frame, making sure the cables do not snag as it comes out.
Remove the two screws holding the controller to the tray using a 3 mm hex wrench.
Installing the Replacement Controller
Installation is the reverse of the removal steps above. Work back from Step 8 to Step 1, reconnecting all connectors and securing all screws and zip ties as you go.
