Follow these step-by-step instructions and video guide to safely package and ship your  battery back to Ariel Rider using official hazmat packaging materials.


Battery Return Instructions

  1. Unbox the Package:
    • Carefully open the shipping box received from Ariel Rider.
    • Locate and remove the inner battery packaging box from the larger shipping package.
  2. Prepare the Battery:
    • Remove instructions and packing materials.
    • Turn off your battery before packing.
    • Double-check that the battery is completely powered off by pressing the voltage indicator button.
  3. Wrap the Battery:
    • Wrap the battery securely with the provided bubble wrap.
    • Ensure equal coverage on both ends of the battery for balanced impact protection.
  4. Pack the Battery:
    • Place the wrapped battery into the inner box.
    • Distribute bubble wrap evenly at both ends inside the box to prevent movement during transit.
  5. Seal the Box:
    • Dampen the provided water-activated paper tape using a damp sponge or dish towel to activate the adhesive.
    • Close the box flaps and seal the main seam firmly.
  6. Secure the Ends:
    • Use the two smallest tape pieces to reinforce the edges on each end of the box for a tight seal.
  7. Check Labels & Stickers:
    • Confirm that all hazmat compliance labels and shipping stickers are securely attached and fully visible on the outside of the box.
  8. Schedule a Hazmat Pickup:
    • Once the package is sealed and labeled, contact FedEx at 1-800-463-3339.
    • When prompted, press 81# to schedule a Hazmat pickup for safe transport back to Ariel Rider.
HAZMAT SHIPPING NOTICE: Lithium-ion batteries must be shipped strictly according to these hazmat guidelines using the provided packaging and designated FedEx Hazmat pickup procedure. Do not drop off hazmat battery packages at standard retail drop-off locations.
