Grizzly 72v PPB - Error Code E01Updated a day ago

Error code E01 indicates that a motor cut-off switch is currently engaged, which prevents the motor from receiving power as a safety measure.

CRITICAL WARNING: Always power cycle—Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE)—your motorized bike before disconnecting or reconnecting any electrical components. On dual-battery models, both batteries must be removed to perform a proper DCE. Step-by-step guidance is available in our Power Cycle (DCE) Guide.

Troubleshooting Steps for Error E01

  1. Cycle Brake Levers: Squeeze and release both left and right brake levers firmly a few times to ensure the internal microswitches are returning fully to their rest positions and are not stuck engaged.
  2. Power Cycle (DCE - Both Batteries): Turn off the display, remove both batteries from the frame, and perform a full DCE power cycle to clear controller signal memory. Leave both batteries off for step 3.
  3. Inspect & Reconnect Brake Switch Connectors: Locate the brake cut-off microswitch quick-disconnect connectors near the brake levers. Unplug each connector, check for bent or damaged internal pins, clean away any debris, and firmly reconnect them ensuring alignment arrows match up.
  4. Reinstall Batteries & Test: Reinstall both batteries securely, power on the bike display, and test each brake lever to verify if Error E01 clears and normal motor operation is restored.
