How To Power Cycle, DCE, your BikeUpdated a month ago
Before disconnecting any electrical components, it is imperative to first Power Cycle your Ariel Rider Bike. The process will Dissipate the Controllers stored Energy, and is referred to as DCE.
Please find a video and written instructions below.
Written Instructions:
Step 1: Turn your bike off by holding down the power button.
Step 2: If your battery has a power button (X-Class and Grizzly), turn the battery off.
Step 3: Remove the battery(ies) from the bike.
Step 4: Hold down the bike power button for 5 seconds. You may see your display flash on and then power off.
This process dissipates any residual power in the system to prevent damage to components when connecting components. This is not a safety precaution, component damage from residual power is a common occurrence when plugging in and unplugging components, even when the bike is turned off.
