Grizzly 72v PPB - Error Code E02Updated 6 days ago

Error code E02 indicates that the throttle is sending an unexpected signal to the controller. This usually occurs when the throttle is being twisted, pressed, or stuck engaged while the bike is powering on.

CRITICAL WARNING: Always power cycle—Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE)—your motorized bike before disconnecting or reconnecting any electrical components. On dual-battery models, both batteries must be removed to perform a proper DCE. Step-by-step guidance is available in our Power Cycle (DCE) Guide.

Troubleshooting Steps for Error E02

  1. Check Throttle Clearance: Ensure the throttle body operates smoothly and snaps back freely to its default rest position without binding against the handlebar grip, end plugs, or brake lever assembly.
  2. Power Cycle (DCE - Both Batteries): Turn off the bike, remove both batteries from the frame, and perform a full DCE power cycle to dissipate stored controller energy. Leave both batteries off for step 3.
  3. Inspect Throttle Connection: While the system is completely powered off and drained of residual power, disconnect and inspect the throttle cable connector near the handlebars. Ensure all internal pins are straight, clean, and properly aligned before reconnecting.
  4. Reinstall Batteries & Test: Reinstall both batteries, ensure hands and obstacles are completely clear of the throttle, and power the bike back on to verify if Error E02 clears.
