Grizzly 72v PPB - Error Code E07Updated 6 days ago
Error code E07 indicates a phase current fault, meaning the controller detected an abnormally high electric current spike in the motor phase wires. This is typically triggered by launching under full throttle from a complete stop, a locked rear wheel, or a short circuit in the motor cable.
CRITICAL WARNING: Always power cycle—Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE)—your motorized bike before disconnecting or reconnecting any electrical components. On dual-battery models, both batteries must be removed to perform a proper DCE. Step-by-step guidance is available in our Power Cycle (DCE) Guide.
Troubleshooting Steps for Error E07
- Check Wheel Movement: Lift the rear end of the bike and spin the rear wheel manually to ensure it turns smoothly and is not physically jammed by the brake caliper, chain, or debris.
- Power Cycle (DCE - Both Batteries): Turn off the bike, remove both batteries from the frame, and perform a full DCE power cycle to dissipate residual controller power and reset system memory. Leave both batteries off for step 3.
- Inspect Motor Cable & Plug: Pull back the protective spring sleeve on the motor cable near the rear axle dropout cutout. Inspect the wiring for pinches, cuts, or exposed copper, and verify that the main motor connection is firmly seated with alignment arrows matching.
- Reinstall Batteries & Test: Reinstall both batteries, power on the bike display, and test motor operation using smooth, gradual throttle input rather than hard launching from a complete stop.

If error code E07 returns during normal, gradual throttle usage after completing these steps and executing a dual-battery DCE reset, please contact our support team through our Contact Form.
IMPORTANT: Photos and videos are essential for resolving technical support tickets. Please attach clear photos of your motor cable near the axle dropout, motor quick-disconnect plug, and a video showing the display screen with Error E07 when submitting your ticket.
