Grizzly 72v PPB - Error Code E12Updated 5 days ago

Error code E12 indicates a dual-battery voltage imbalance, meaning the voltage difference between your two battery packs exceeds the maximum allowed 2.0V threshold.

CRITICAL WARNING: Always power cycle—Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE)—your motorized bike before disconnecting or reconnecting any electrical components. On dual-battery models, both batteries must be removed to perform a proper DCE. Step-by-step guidance is available in our Power Cycle (DCE) Guide.

Troubleshooting Steps for Error E12

  1. Remove Both Batteries: Turn off the display and safely remove both batteries from the frame. (Note: Controller energy naturally dissipates while both batteries are removed during charging, so a manual DCE button process is not required for this procedure).
  2. Fully Charge Both Batteries: Charge each battery pack until the charger indicator lights turn solid green (indicating a 100% full charge).
  3. Perform BMS Balancing: Leave both batteries plugged into their active chargers for an additional 2 hours (do not exceed 2 hours). This allows the internal Battery Management System (BMS) to balance the individual cell groups within each pack.
  4. Reinstall & Test: Reinstall both fully balanced batteries into their cradles, ensure both power switches are toggled ON, and power on the display to verify that Error E12 clears.
