Grizzly 72v PPB - Error Code E13Updated 2 days ago

Error code E13 indicates that a charger plug has been detected in the battery charging port while the bike is powered on or prepared for riding.

CRITICAL WARNING: Always power cycle—Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE)—your motorized bike before disconnecting or reconnecting any electrical components. On dual-battery models, both batteries must be removed to perform a proper DCE. Step-by-step guidance is available in our Power Cycle (DCE) Guide.

Troubleshooting Steps for Error E13

  1. Unplug the Charger: Disconnect the charger cable completely from the battery charge port (or ports on dual-battery setups). As a safety precaution, the bike will not deliver motor power while a charge port is engaged.
  2. Power Cycle (DCE - Both Batteries): Turn off the bike, remove both batteries from the frame, and perform a full DCE power cycle to dissipate residual power and clear controller detection memory. Leave both batteries off for step 3.
  3. Inspect Charge Ports: Inspect the charging ports on both batteries to ensure there is no metallic debris, dirt, moisture, or bent pins causing a false detection signal. Close the protective rubber charge port covers securely.
  4. Reinstall Batteries & Test: Reinstall both batteries, power on the bike display, and verify if Error E13 clears from the display.
