Grizzly 72v PPB - Error Code E33Updated 2 days ago
Error code E33 indicates an over-current condition detected in the 12V DC-to-DC converter, which powers your bike's low-voltage electrical accessories (headlight, tail light, turn signals, horn, and dash cam).
CRITICAL WARNING: Always power cycle—Dissipate Controller Energy (DCE)—your motorized bike before disconnecting or reconnecting any electrical components. On dual-battery models, both batteries must be removed to perform a proper DCE. Step-by-step guidance is available in our Power Cycle (DCE) Guide.
Troubleshooting Steps for Error E33
- Turn Off All Accessories: Switch off the headlight, turn signals, and dash cam, and ensure the horn button is completely disengaged.
- Power Cycle (DCE - Both Batteries): Turn off the bike, remove both batteries from the frame, and perform a full DCE power cycle to dissipate residual controller power and reset the converter module. Leave both batteries off for step 3.
- Inspect Accessory Cabling & Connectors: While the bike is completely powered down and drained of energy, inspect all accessory wiring for pinched, cut, frayed, or melted wires. Check quick-disconnect plugs for the headlight, tail light, turn signals, dash cam, and horn to ensure no short circuits or bent pins are present.
- Isolate Electrical Shorts (Process of Elimination): Unplug all external 12V accessories. Reinstall both batteries and turn on the bike. If Error E33 disappears, reconnect each accessory one at a time (headlight, horn, dash cam, etc.) until the error returns to identify the failing component or shorted cable.
