X‑Class 60V: My battery drops from 100 % to 50 % too quicklyUpdated 21 hours ago

Why it happens

Battery voltage drops quickly right after a full charge if the pack is cold, older, or just finished charging.

Test it

  1. Charge to 100 %, then let the battery rest (off the charger) for 60 minutes.
    1. This allows the voltage to settle and will give you a more accurate reading.
  2. Check voltage at the charge port or display:
    • > 67 V = normal resting voltage
    • < 67 V = capacity loss (common after ~700 cycles)
      • As Lithium batteries age, through usage, they will loose some of their charge over time.
  3. Ride 2–3 miles and recheck. A gentle drop is normal; a steep drop may mean that the pack is aging.

What to do

  • Keep the battery warm (50–70 °F) before rides.
    • Batteries that are too warm or too cold will have reduced performance and may have reduced voltage.
