X-Class 60V: My battery isn't charging?Updated 20 days ago
Before you start
- Tools: Voltmeter, charger, clean cloth
- Safety: Power off the bike and remove the battery from the frame.
If your e-bike battery isn't charging properly, don't worry—this is often a quick fix that you can troubleshoot at home. This guide will walk you through systematic steps to diagnose whether the issue is with your charger, battery, or Battery Management System (BMS). Most charging problems can be resolved by checking connections, waking a dormant BMS, or testing your charger's output voltage. Follow the steps below to get your battery charging again and get back on the road.
Steps
- Check the charge indicator lights on your battery, to ensure that the battery is not fully charged
- Plug the charger into the wall first to check that the charger is working, solid green light is normal when not connected to a battery.
- Unplug the charger from the wall and connect the charger to the battery, then plug the charger into the outlet. The LED should turn red while charging.
- If it stays green, leave it connected for 10 minutes to wake the BMS, then press the battery’s power button once.
- Still green? Use a voltmeter to test charger output at the plug — you should see ~67 V DC.
- No voltage or unstable reading → replace the charger. Proper voltage but no charge → possible BMS issue, please let us know immediately through our contact form.
After the fix
Charge until the LED turns green, then let the battery rest 30 minutes before riding.
