What could cause an issue with loss of drive power to the rear wheel?Updated 14 days ago
First, remove the battery and power cycle your e-bike to discharge any residual current in the cables and prevent electrical shorts. For step-by-step instructions, please review our Power Cycling Guide.
To power cycle your bike, remove the battery, then press and hold the power button on the display until the screen turns on and completely shuts off on its own.
Once power cycling is complete, please inspect the following and send us photos for reference:
- Connector pins: Unplug the motor-to-controller connection and take clear photos of the connector pins on both ends. Please use a flash or flashlight so we can clearly see inside both plugs.
- Cable routing: Inspect the full length of the cable running from the motor to the controller for any nicks, cuts, or external damage.
- Hub exit point: Check the motor cable where it exits the hub motor axle. Pull back the protective spring wrap to inspect the wiring underneath for any signs of damage.
